About us

Founded in 1995 by Dutch designer Eddie Spruit in an East London studio, Quadraspire now designs and crafts exceptional HiFi furniture from its own manufacturing facility near Bath, England. From the outset, our vision was to create support systems that unite acoustic integrity with understated elegance and ease of use. By combining solid aluminium columns with meticulously engineered shelves, we established a light, rigid architecture designed to reveal greater clarity, nuance and musical presence. Today, the Q4 Evo is recognised internationally and remains one of our most iconic and enduring creations. All our racks are engineered for sound and ease of use.

ALESTER KELLS
PRODUCT DESIGNER

A lifelong devotee of music, Alester has spent more than two decades immersed in the world of high-fidelity sound. Having studied product design at Central Saint Martins, he has become the creative vision behind every new Quadraspire design. Guided by an uncompromising passion for musical integrity, Alester personally listens to each concept, material and component, ensuring that every product embodies both acoustic excellence and considered design.

The Art of Research & Development

Every element within a hi-fi system, from amplifiers and source components to turntables, CD players and streamers, is influenced by microphony and resonance. When left unchecked, these subtle vibrations can veil detail, diminish clarity and compromise the purity of the listening experience. A meticulously engineered equipment rack, designed to manage resonance with precision, can transform overall system performance and reveal music with greater openness, control and refinement.

The design of a hi-fi rack, and the integrity of the materials from which it is made, is fundamental to performance. In developing our racks, we draw on the time-honoured practice of tuning by ear, echoing the methods used in the creation of the world’s finest musical instruments. Our research has shown that non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and bronze, paired with natural materials including wood and bamboo, help to dissipate unwanted resonance with remarkable effectiveness. We have also found that the form of shelves and columns plays a defining role in vibration control. The result is a structure that is both elegant and exceptionally rigid, delivering a listening experience of greater purity, transparency and musical engagement.
